“God’s Armor or Satan”s Chains (11 days writing)

“God’s Armor or Satan”s Chains (11 days writing)

I am posting this to be able to share with those interested in what make me tick, so to speak…  This is the premise for a book I haven’t worked on for almost 3 years, called “God’s Armor or Satan’s Chains”…  I would welcome anyone’s opinion on this writing…and thoughts on if it is book worthy…  Any flaws seen  in my theology would be greatly appreciated…   Blessings in Christ,  bruce

“God Wants All of Us” (1)

Romans 8:31b… If God is for us, who can be against us?
Once we become a child of God through faith and faith alone in Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, there is nothing that can separate us from the love of God… Yes we need to commit our lives to putting Christ first… Yes we must give God ALL of our heart, our mind, our soul and our strength… That is if we really want the full blessings that God promises us… I believe one can be saved, but not filled with the Holy Spirit…
I was talking to a friend who I believe is saved and a child of God… He said he wished he had the same passion and Love for the Lord as I did… I know from personal experience, that one can be saved and going to heaven…but not filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit… I have written about this before, but this point is important… I was saved for over 7 years, but had not totally committee my life to Christ… I knew I was saved, and heaven bound… (At least as much as anyone can believe in their salvation)… My life changed dramatically, within minutes after repenting of my sins, and asking Christ to come into my heart, giving me new life in Him… But it wasn’t until I sat down and prayed to God to use all of me as He sees fit, 7 years and 2 days after my salvation…that my life changed again… One of our Deacons at my church told me I was now on level 2…
Jesus’ first and greatest commandment, is that we love the Lord with ALL of our heart, our mind, and our soul…(Matthew 22:36-40)… In that first 7 years, I only shared the gospel of Christ 2 times… When I finally decided to yield to the Holy Spirit, I was amazed at how spiritual things became easier for me… Sharing the gospel of Christ became, all of a sudden, one of the most important things I could do for the Lord… Before this, I was scratching my head every day, to find a piece of scripture I could write on… Now I have no problem looking at scripture, and finding something worthy to expound upon… And anyone who has been following my writing knows that sharing the gospel is so very important to me… It’s all about being led by the Holy Spirit…
Today’s writing is a prime example… You see the last sentence in my opening paragraph?… I believe one can be saved, but not filled with the Holy Spirit… My original topic about “nothing separating us from the love of God”, went right down the tubes after I wrote this, and stopped to think for a moment… This is because I yielded to what the Holy Spirit was trying to tell me I should be writing on today… Being Spirit filled is so much more powerful, than just being saved… All of God’s children must yield to what the Holy Spirit is trying to tell them… It is only by this humbling oneself after salvation…and giving God ALL of your life…that the full power and majesty of the Holy Spirit will blossom to that amazing second level I believe my friend is looking for…
Heavenly Father, I pray that all Christians that are not filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit, would be able to see through my actual life experience…that just being saved is not where You want us to stop… Help us Lord as Christians, to fully commit our lives to You; and then totally yield to the urging of Holy Spirit, to be blessed with the full power and potential being filled with the Holy Spirit will unlock… I thank You and praise You Lord for all that You do… And I pray that others would seek to commit 100% of their lives to You as well… And I will thank You in Jesus’ most precious name, and for His sake…Amen…

“If God is Our Father, How can Satan get to Us?” (2)

Romans 8:31b… If God is for us, who can be against us?
Once someone is graced by the love of God, as they are allowed into His family as a child of God…they have become part of the body of Christ… I wrote yesterday about letting the Holy Spirit take total control of the life of a believer… And how my own life was energized and empowered once I humbled myself to be led by the Holy Spirit… God’s children are then to live for Christ, always trying to better themselves as the days, weeks, months, and years of being saved pass buy… As God’s children, we are given the rights to wear the “Whole Armor of God” that Paul writes about in…Ephesians 6:10-19… But just because we have access to this armor, we still have to put it on to be protected. But what are we seeking protection from? Here is this important link for that answer and a complete list of “The Whole Armor of God” for a little extra reading…
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=eph6:10-19&version=NKJV
God wants us to wear His entire set of spiritual armor He has put together for His children… The reason for the wearing of this armor is to protect us from Satan, as written in…Ephesians 6:11… Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. But we must wear every piece of armor, or Satan will find easy access for entry into our feeble human bodies… Make no mistake about this… Satan is the ruler of this world (John 12:31-32); and is known by this name and several others in the Bible, such as the Power of darkness (Colossians 1:13-14), and a ruler of darkness of this age, as written in…Ephesians 6:12…
The most important piece of armor we are to wear, is the “shield of faith”…Ephesians 6:16… above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. The opening scripture says “If God is for us, who can be against us?”… If we are not pleasing God, Satan can surely be against us… Salvation is received by faith and faith alone in Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior… I believe this is why we see faith as the most important piece of the armor of God… We cannot please God without faith… And I’m talking about faith both before and after our salvation…
Hebrews 11:6… But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. We need faith to be saved; and then we must continue in faith that God will take care of us and provide for us, to please Him – and be rewarded for diligently seeking Him… Without faith as part of our armor, scripture is clear that we will not have a shield “to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one”…
Without faith, Satan will hit us with all kinds of fiery darts that he uses all the time on those not shielded with the faith provided by God to His children; if we are pleasing Him… But as important as faith is; it is only one part of the complete set of God’s protective armor, which has 6 pieces… Today I wrote on the most important piece, and this is faith…
Heavenly Father, all of Your children had to have faith to become part of Your family… Help Your children continue in their faith that You will always know what’s best for us, in every situation… Help us use our shield of faith, and to become knowledgeable about the other 5 pieces of armor…so that by wearing the complete set of spiritual armor You provide for our use, we can become complete in You… And I will thank You in Jesus’ most precious name…Amen…

“The Helmet of Salvation” (3)

Ephesians 6:17… And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
I woke up this morning, and before I even had a chance to ask God to guide me through this day, I knew what I was going to write on today… I have been writing about scripture in the Book of Romans, but was sidetracked by the Armor of God each and every one of us needs to be wearing as a complete set…all 6 pieces… Here is the link for some extra important reading about the “Whole Armor of God”, as found in…(Ephesians 6:10-19)…
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=eph6:10-19&version=NKJV
In trying to look at my own weaknesses as a Christian, I am hopeful that other Christians can find out what they are missing in the “Whole Armor of God”, to have complete protection from Satan… To be spirit filled, as I believe I am, (Praise the Lord !!), I think it’s necessary to be wearing God’s complete set of armor… As Christians, any chinks in God’s armor will allow Satan in, and leave a crack in our vessel… Our cup cannot be filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit, if we have any cracks in it…
I wrote yesterday that Paul tells us in this important piece of scripture about God’s armor, that we must put on ALL of God’s armor for complete protection from Satan…Ephesians 6:11… “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Yesterday I wrote about faith, the most important part of God’s armor, for those to become saved, and for those who become one of God’s family…
The opening scripture talks about “the helmet of salvation”, which of course is the first piece of God’s armor anyone still living in the world needs to pray to God for… Salvation, or being saved by God’s grace from the long list of sins one has committed, is all about the gospel of Christ… We must understand the gospel, and respond to God’s calling, or we will be left to die in our sins, as the Apostle John writes in…John 8:24… “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” This was spoken by Jesus, and recorded by His disciple John…
But once we are “Born Again Christians”, we must keep “the helmet of salvation” on…24/7… Each and every day, we must be thankful for the grace God has gifted us with, as we have been accepted by Him into His family as a child of God…As ambassadors of Christ, we must always look for opportunities to share the gospel of Christ with the lost and dying world around us… This, for sure, was one of the chinks in my armor for over 7 years, as I have previously confessed…which allowed the Holy Spirit to have less control of my vessel…(Me)…keeping me less than Spirit filled…Ephesians 5:18-20…
Heavenly Father, being Spirit filled is what every Christian should strive to become… Help each and every reader understand that Your complete set of spiritual armor is required, to protect us from Satan… It starts with “the helmet of salvation”, and we are to add on Your armor piece by piece… Help us to realize that there will be chinks in our body armor when we aren’t wearing all 6 pieces… And that this will keep us from being Spirit filled, as well as being fully protected from Satan, and his bag full of temptations to sin… And Lord…help all of those who are wearing Your full set of armor, to keep wearing it 24/7… Being Spirit filled is an ongoing daily labor of love for You Lord, as Your obedient children walk in the Spirit… Help us keep our vessel full to overflowing with the Holy Spirit… In Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake I pray…Amen…

“God’s Word, the 3rd Piece of His Armor” (4)

Ephesians 6:17… And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
I am writing about this entire “Whole Armor of God”, for any Christian that believes they are saved by the grace of God, and “born again” as a new creation; but seem to be missing something in their lives… As Christians we should be striving to be filled with the Spirit… As I wrote yesterday, if we are missing any piece, or pieces, of God’s spiritual armor, we are not complete in Him… As a child of God, with salvation received by God’s grace and mercy, we have eternal life in heaven with our Father, after death… Amen to that !! But with any piece of God’s armor missing, it will be just like our pre-salvation life, with Satan constantly pulling at us to return to the world and our old way of living… God will not be able to fully bless us, as He will His obedient children that are filled with the Holy Spirit… This is why it is so very important to learn about, and put on the “Whole Armor of God”…
As I continue on from yesterday, with the “Whole Armor of God”, I would again like to post the link for those who want to read what the Apostle Paul wrote about this very important protection Christians have to put on to be protected from Satan… http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=eph6:10-19&version=NKJV
I wrote about faith, Paul says is the most important part of the 6 pieces of armor, 2 days ago… Yesterday I wrote about the “helmet of salvation”, first needed to become a child of God; and then an essential part of God’s armor to be kept on our head, to protect our mind from Satan… For new readers, I think it important to emphasize that Paul writes this in… Ephesians 6:11… “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Christians need to wear the entire set of armor God provides…every piece…or there will be a chink in the armor, as I call it… This chink will allow Satan to find a way to enter your life and try to bring you down…
For anyone who is not totally familiar with all 6 pieces of God’s armor, I would urge you to open the link above and learn more… How can anyone be protected from Satan and his bag of sinful tricks, if they don’t even know which part of their armor is missing? This brings me to the 3rd piece of God’s armor, “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;”… Everything we know about God and Jesus, His resurrected Son, we have either learned from a teacher, or directly from God’s Word… All teachers who write or preach about God, must get their information from God’s Word… Anything preached that is not found in the Bible, is not truth, and should not be followed…
God’s Word, “the sword of the Spirit”, is the only offensive piece of God’s armor in His 6 piece set… How can anyone win a battle if they have no offense? It’s just like football… No one can win if all they have is a good defense… To keep ourselves totally equipped to fend off Satan, we must be in God’s Word every day… God’s Word will give us spiritual wisdom… God’s Word is where God will talk to us… God’s Word is where we are fed more than just milk, like a baby… We cannot grow if we don’t learn about the “meat” of the Word… Paul writes about this in…
Hebrews 5:13-14… For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Spending time in the Bible, to learn more about what God wants from us, and to grow in our spiritual maturity, is absolutely essential as a key part of God’s armor… You will never be fully equipped with God’s full set of spiritual armor without doing so… It is only by being Spirit filled, and then keeping your cup filled with no chink in your armor, that you can be complete in Christ… God’s blessings are there for His faithful, obedient children… It is worth the time to find any weaknesses you may have in God’s armor…
Heavenly Father, I pray that readers will look at this study on Your complete set of spiritual armor, with a newfound enthusiasm for what it takes to be complete in Christ… Help all of us Lord, to search for missing components of Your 6 piece set of armor…so that we may live our lives as protected as humanly possible from Satan, and all of the lusts of the world that he uses to shackle us to him and his ways… I pray for Your urging of eyes to be opened to the truth of Your Word… In Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake I pray…Amen…

“Gird Your Waist with Truth”- Part 4 (5)

Ephesians 6:14a… Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth,
In the opening scripture, we find the first piece of the “Whole Armor of God” that the Apostle Paul mentions… I find it interesting, that the most important piece, “Faith”, is not mentioned until later in the scripture… I would again like to post the link for those who want to read what the Apostle Paul wrote about the “Whole Armor of God”, this very important protection Christians have to “put on” in it’s entirety, to be protected from Satan…
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=eph6:10-19&version=NKJVhttp://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=eph6:10-19&version=NKJV
Paul is writing to Christians, as he writes about already putting on this armor…”having girded your waist with truth”… Most Bible scholars agree Paul was imprisoned in Rome, looking at a Roman soldier guard and his uniform, when he was writing this letter to the Ephesians… Girding your waist in Paul’s time, was typically pulling your tunic through your legs and tying the loose sides together around your waist… This would allow easier walking or running without tripping over your knee length tunic… From a Christian perspective, it would give someone better spiritual mobility to battle against Satan… The NIV and other versions of the Bible use the words “belt of truth”, fastened around the waist… Indeed, the Roman soldiers wore a belt around their waists with protective leather and metal reinforced strips hanging down in front…
The idea of surrounding your entire body, as a belt would; with the truth from God’s Word…seems like a reasonable explanation for Paul’s analogy… This truth from God’s Word surrounding you…will protect you…control your mind, fill your heart…and envelop you with the wisdom God gives His children, after they are saved, and part of His family as a child of God…
This truth would include the gospel of Christ…the empowering of the Holy Spirit at the moment of salvation…the First Fruits of the Spirit…and all the other truth about the love of God in our hearts, and the joy a believer should have, even through trials… It’s so important to let this truth permeate your heart, mind, and soul…just like we should love the Lord with all of ourselves… If we try to please God by keeping our minds focused on Him 24/7, …it would certainly take our minds off of Satan…
One more point about this “belt of truth”… The Roman soldiers typically hung the sheath for their sword on their belt, or they shoved their sword under their belt to hold it… If we weren’t wearing this “belt of truth”, we would have no place to support the “Sword of the Spirit”, which is the Word of God I wrote about yesterday…
Heavenly Father, this armor of God Your servant Paul has written about in the Book of Ephesians, has certainly opened my eyes to Your entire set of spiritual armor we must as Christians be wearing 24/7… If we are missing one or more pieces, this chink in our protective armor will let Satan back into our lives again to try and pull us back into the world…
Ephesians 6:11… Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Help Your children Lord, to understand what each of the 6 pieces of armor all about… And Lord…urge us to look into our own lives, to see if there is a chink in our personal set of armor that You provide for our protection… I pray for this self examination for the “Whole Armor of God” by all of Your children, in Jesus’ most precious name…Amen…

“The Need for God’s Complete Set of Armor” (6)

Ephesians 6:14b… having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
As I sit here thinking about how to present this 5th piece of the “Whole Armor of God”… I am realizing more and more how important wearing all 6 of these components to God’s full set of armor becomes, in the life of the typical Christian… I had a conversation this morning with my dear friend, who has inspired me to write on the “Whole Armor of God”… And I had a long talk last night with my dear Lil Sis Sharon, about her realizing now, that she was missing part of God’s armor for a period of years… “The Helmet of Salvation”…
I have definitely been led by the Holy Spirit to write on God’s protective armor… I can see in my life, and the first 2 people I have talked with, that all 3 of us have been, and/or continue to be missing at least one of these critical 6 pieces of God’s armor… Unless we are complete in Christ; that is wearing all 6 pieces of the protective spiritual armor Paul writes about In Ephesians…Satan can and will find this chink in our armor… This chink, as I call it, leaves a crack in our vessel which will not allow us to be kept filled with the Holy Spirit…
Ephesians 6:10-20… This is the scripture, for new readers, that the Apostle Paul wrote on “The Whole Armor of God”… Here is the link for first time readers to read this important scripture for all Christians…
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians6:10-20&version=NKJV
Being filled with the Spirit is something all of us who are children of God should be striving for… This fullness of Christ in one’s life will make them complete, much like the life changing salvation experience, to what I call a second level of spirituality…
I should have started this study on God’s armor with this scripture written right before Paul goes into detail about “The Whole Armor of God”… Paul writes this in…Ephesians 5:18-25… And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God.
Doesn’t this scripture give you a picture of peace and completeness? I spent just over 7 years being saved by God’s grace and mercy, after coming to Christ with a repentant heart… I knew I was saved within minutes of praying to God, asking Jesus to come into my heart, and to change my life… Being given this new life as a born again Christian was an amazing experience… Salvation is something only God can do, when He gives us the will to seek Christ’s help with 100% of our heart, mind, and soul… It should produce visible signs in our life that we have given up our old sinful life, and have been Spirit filled as a new creation and now a child of God, instead of a child of Satan and the world…
I believe this original filling of the Holy Spirit at the time of salvation can and will dissipate if we don’t quickly learn about the “Whole Armor of God”, and hopefully put each piece of spiritual armor on to maintain the protection God avails to us… I was a cracked vessel for over 7 years… I was in the Word every day and was wearing the Helmet of Salvation…(Ephesians 6:17)… I prayed every day…(Ephesians 6:18)… I thought I was wearing the belt of truth and the breastplate of righteousness…(Ephesians 6:14)… I had faith as my shield against Satan’s fiery darts…(Ephesians 6:16)… But my feet were not shod “with the preparation of the gospel of peace;”, as written by Paul in…Ephesians 6:15… I was ready to finally share the gospel of Christ as all Christians are commanded by Jesus to do… But it wasn’t until June 4th, 2009…over 7 years from my salvation, that I prayed to God to take back 100% of my life, and to use me as He saw fit for His purposes…
Once the filling of the Holy Spirit at salvation is allowed to be compromised by any chinks in God’s armor…we must ask God for this filling again for God to do so… God wants us come to Him… But we must wear our complete set of His spiritual armor, or like any of the seeds that are not planted in fertile soil…(Matthew 13:1-23)…we can and will fall prey to Satan and not produce the fruit God wants us to… Being filled with the Holy Spirit is an ongoing daily undertaking… Any break in the armor, or any sin that we commit, will break our fellowship and our blessings with our Father in Heaven…
Heavenly Father, I am ever so thankful for the leading of the Holy Spirit who is totally responsible for today’s writing… I pray Lord, that each reader absorbs all that Your Word is unfolding for us in this study about Your protective armor; and how important is to be worn in it’s entirety… I thank You now for Your urging of this importance to all of Your children… And I thank You in Jesus’ most precious name…Amen…

“Protect Your Heart from Satan’s Attack” (7)

Ephesians 6:14b… having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
Some regular readers might be wondering why I posted this opening scripture yesterday, and never wrote about “the breastplate of righteousness,”… This is because, as I thanked God yesterday, the Holy Spirit led me off of what I wanted to write about… When you are walking in the Spirit, you are to let the Holy Spirit lead you… The “Our Daily Bread” I read this morning was about the 23rd Psalm… I am sure most of you know this scripture almost by heart… “1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”… Today’s devotion was telling us that we must let the Lord be our Shepherd, if we want what David writes in the last verse… ” 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.”
Some would call this just a coincidence, that this scripture popped up in front of me this morning… I say God is reinforcing the fact that He must be in control of our lives… We must be led by the Holy Spirit in everything we say and do… We must ask God for this filling of the Holy Spirit”…We just don’t automatically obtain it… But this wearing all of “The Whole Armor of God”, is a 100% must, once God fills us with the Holy Spirit…
As I have written in the previous 5 days…there are 6 pieces to God’s full set of protective spiritual armor… We must wear them all, or Satan will find that chink in our armor, and try to pull anyone who has broken away from his control and become a child of God, away from the leading of the Holy Spirit… Satan will never keep any of God’s children from the promised eternity in God’s mansion… But Satan’s objective will to always be to try and find that chink in God’s children’s armor, to keep them from being effective Christians… I would also add, that all of God’s blessings will only be given to His obedient children, who constantly pray for any sin they have made on a daily basis…
This “breastplate of righteousness” becomes a very important piece of God’s protective armor… Any Christian’s righteousness is given to them by God when their heart, mind, and soul are filled with the Holy Spirit at the time of salvation… Here is a link by http://www.wikiepedia.org on the definition of righteousness…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Righteousness I will quote the opening of their definition… “Righteousness (also called rectitude) is an important theological concept in Zoroastrianism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. It is an attribute that implies that a person’s actions are justified, and can have the connotation that the person has been “judged” or “reckoned” as leading a life that is pleasing to God.”
Unbelievers have been given the gift of salvation, making them positionally righteous in God’s eyes forever… But to live a righteous life practically in God’s eyes, means we are living a life that is pleasing to God… To remain righteous in God’s eyes, means that we must not let Satan back into our lives… The heart is considered by most people, to be the most important part of their body… When the heart stops pumping the life supporting blood to every cell in our body, (except for the cornea of the eye !!), we are considered dead…
The Roman soldiers breastplate included a back plate as well as a breastplate…The “breastplate of righteousness” protects the heart and other vital organs from Satan’s attacks from both our front as well as our backs… Wearing the “breastplate of righteousness” includes doing everything written in the Bible that will keep us walking with the Lord… All 6 of these protective pieces of spiritual armor God asks us to put on, are intertwined with each other… This would include us spending time reading God’s Word…spending time with the Lord in prayer…and walking in obedience to the urging of the Holy Spirit within every Christian… Christians take off this “breastplate of righteousness”, leaving the heart and other vital organs open to Satan’s attacks, every time they sin… We must be led by the Holy Spirit, and never by our own desires…
The first chapter written by the Apostle James, is full of advice for maintaining the “breastplate of righteousness”…Here is the link- http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James%201&version=NKJV
James warns us about following our desires, instead of what the Holy Spirit is urging us to do, in…James 1:14-15… But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.
Heavenly Father, I thank You again for the leading of the Holy Spirit in today’s writing… I pray Lord, that this study on “The Whole Armor of God”, would be used by You, to open the eyes of all of Your children… Out of love Lord, I ask for help for all of us; to understand the need for, and then to seek and then wear the “Whole Armor of God”, 24/7… And I will thank You in Jesus’ most precious name, and for His sake…Amen…

“A Changed World Can Start with Us” (8)

Ephesians 6:15… and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
This opening scripture has the Apostle Paul writing about this one piece of “The Whole Armor of God”, that I believe I was missing for over 7 years… I was a born again Christian, but Satan…even though he wasn’t necessarily bombarding me with his fiery darts, was still an extremely effective foe in my daily struggles against him and the world that is still living under his iron fist… Two days ago, I wrote about the need to be wearing all 6 pieces of this protective armor that God provides for us to put on… But put it on we must, or we will not be able to stand our ground in the daily battle between the Holy Spirit, (given to all of God’s children), and Satan, the ruler of this world… Here is the link for “The Whole Armor of God” for any new readers…
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=eph6:10-20&version=NKJV
I admitted to the CBC men’s Sunday school class this morning, (yesterday), that Satan’s temptations to sin were not getting to me… When we are wearing God’s complete set of protective spiritual armor, and we have finally yielded 100% control of our lives over to God…we become Spirit filled and Satan is no match against the full power of the Holy Spirit with-in us… I am far from perfect, and I have trials I am going through in my personal life… But we will all go through these trials from God to temper our lives, so that we will become a stronger person; just like spring steel after the tempering process… This tempering of our very souls will make us better able to cope with life’s struggles…
Satan, during those 7 years of my almost never sharing the gospel of Christ, (only twice), was still keeping me in constant sin… This sin is called the sin of omission, as written about by the Apostle James in…James 4:17… Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. What could be worst that not to obey a direct order from Jesus? This would be like a child who was just told by their parent to do something, and they just sit there ignoring their parent… Jesus’ last words to all those watching Him ascend into heaven are found in…
Matthew 28:19-20… Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Making disciples of all the nations, is sharing the gospel of Christ with the lost and dying world around us… This direct neglecting of doing what Jesus commands all Christians to do, is perhaps the biggest victory Satan can achieve in his battles with the Christian’s of the world… Satan has lost his fight to keep each Christian from the promise of eternal life in heaven… But by keeping us from sharing the gospel of Christ with those around us, Satan has limited his loss in battle to only one casualty…the ineffective Christian who is sinning by not sharing the gospel of Christ…
What makes this one chink in our “Whole Armor of God” so pervasive and horrific, is that there is only an estimated 5% of the world’s Christians who have been blessed with planting the seed that will lead someone to Christ… If all Christian’s put on this one piece of God’s armor, and shod their “feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace”…and only spoke to one unbeliever, allowing God to grace them with salvation…we would have a tremendous boom in the number of those who will be headed to that place in God’s mansion that Jesus promises for His children in…John 14:1-6…when we pass on from this life… Satan would be up against a much bigger army; and if each new believer led 1 other person to Christ, and I believe the world of sin as we know it today, would and could be dramatically changed…
If we leave any of the other 5 pieces of God’s armor off, all we will do is hurt ourselves… Any one missing piece of protective armor, will allow Satan to enter that chink in our armor, and we will be grieving the Holy Spirit, or quenching the Holy Spirit… We cannot be filled and stay filled with the Holy Spirit, if “The Whole Armor of God” is not worn in it’s entirety 24/7… Satan will find that little foothold, and sin will once again be found pulling down the Christian’s life…
Heavenly Father, I thank You ever so much for this scripture in…Ephesians 6:10-20…Your servant Paul wrote while be imprisoned in Rome… Help all of Your children see the importance of wearing “The Whole Armor of God”… But Lord, help all of us work extra hard to shod our “feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace”; and to do as Jesus has commanded us to do…to share the gospel of Christ with those in need… I thank You even now for this strength that will be needed… I ask for this supernatural strength for each Christian, that only You can provide…in Jesus’ most precious name, and for His sake…Amen…

“The Power of Prayer through the Holy Spirit” (9)

Ephesians 6:18-20… praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
In writing about this last important ingredient of “The Whole Armor of God”, written by the Apostle Paul… Paul tells us to pray, which I am calling the glue to hold all 6 pieces of armor firmly in place… One point I have failed to write about in the last 7 days, is that Paul lists much more than just Satan that we need the entire set of God’s armor to be protected from… Paul goes into explicit detail of all of our earthly enemies in…
Ephesians 6:12-13… For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
I don’t know about you…but this laundry list about Satan, and his fallen angel friends; as well as all the other demonic enemies that are around us…really urges me to be sure I personally wear God’s entire set of protective armor 24/7… I have told more than one person that I wear the entire set of God’s armor…even to bed…and that it’s worth the clanking and squeaking of joints because of the protection, peace, joy, and comfort it provides me !!
This brings to mind a brochure I bought a bunch of, and handed out to all the youth group teens and leaders a few years back… “Spiritual Warfare Prayers” written by Mark I. Burbeck… I just now saw one I found, and put visibly on my computer desk a few weeks ago… God knew then, that I would have need of it in today’s writing… This accordion booklet has 20 prayers, and the front cover tells us… “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kind of prayers and requests …Ephesians 6:18…” One of these twenty prayers listed was for us to wear the whole armor of God… And I like what Mark Bubeck says at the end of this prayer, and I quote… “Help me to keep this armor well oiled with prayer”…
I can’t begin to list all of the types of prayers all Christians should be using day in and day out… The most important point of our prayer to the Lord, is that we must understand that the power of our prayer comes from the Holy Spirit with-in each and every born again Christian… The prayers we make on our own behalf, in our own strength are useless… Just like trying to live out lives in our own strength, believing that what we have is because of all our own hard work…
God provides for all that we have… Our prayers to Him should be continuous from morning till night… God wants us to seek Him in prayer for everything… We aren’t just supposed to come to Him when we are in a jam… God want’s a personal relationship with us… We are to praise Him, to thank Him, and to glorify Him not just in prayer, but in all we say and do…
Since the power of our prayers come from the Holy Spirit, I must reiterate what I have written before about the prayers of the unbeliever… The person who is not a child of God, is a child of Satan; and therefore an enemy of God… We see this very clearly in…Romans 5:10… For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. The only prayer of the unbeliever, as an enemy of God, that God will respond to…is the prayer to Jesus Christ seeking Him to become our personal Lord and Savior, with a repentant heart and godly sorrow…
Heavenly Father, I pray that the importance of prayer as a requirement to hold all of God’s armor firmly in place, is read and absorbed by all of today’s readers… Help us all to understand that our prayers for personal pleasures will not be answered…(James 4:1-3)… Help us to pray for what is in Your will for our lives…1 John 5:14-15… Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. And Lord, urge all of Your children to understand and to put on all 6 pieces of Your armor; and to pray for a filling of the Holy Spirit, as they recommit 100% control of their lives to You… And I will thank You in Christ’s most precious name, and for His sake…Amen…

“God’s Armor, or Satan’s Chains” (10)

John 3:19-20… And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
For any new readers, I have just finished 9 days of writing on “The Whole Armor of God”… I thought I was finished, and could move on to another topic…But what I am about to write is putting the “horse after the cart”, because I should have started this important writing on the positively 100% need for Christians to wear the entire set of 6 pieces of God’s protective armor, or still be chained to Satan… I have been bombarded by 4 different sources; 2 other believers, one of my own observation this morning, and 1 written source… all pounding away at my feeble brain to explain to you in detail, why so many Christians are still effected by Satan…
This opening scripture is normally looked at as being addressed to non believers… They hate the light from the love of Christ that is supposed to fill the heart, mind, and soul of all of God’s children… All Christians are filled with the Holy Spirit at the moment of salvation… But I am here to tell you that many of us, (me included for over 7 years)…develop cracks in our vessel, or what I have been calling chinks in our spiritual armor of God… These chinks allow Satan back into our lives, and allow the Holy Spirit to take a back seat to our once Spirit filled bodies at the moment of salvation… “Praise the Lord”…all of God’s children are heaven bound, looking forward to an eternity face to face with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, when we pass on from this life… But I believe this opening scripture can be applied to Christians who choose not to commit all of themselves to God, because of the lusts of the world via Satan and all of his cronies, that are finding chinks in their spiritual armor…
But this fullness of the Holy Spirit, where we are overflowing and glowing to those around us, as we share the good news of the gospel of Christ, is missing in so very many Christians of the world… Our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ are being constantly bombarded by Satan, because they have failed to learn about and to faithfully and obediently put on The Whole Armor of God”, that was so extensively written about by the Apostle Paul in…Ephesians 6:10-20…
This scripture was written for our benefit…. I know I have read this scripture a dozen times, but God has finally revealed to me through the fullness of the Holy Spirit with-in me, that this is the key to defeating Satan 100% of the time… This can only be done by the full power of the Holy Spirit, when we as Christians, are not quenching or grieving the Holy Spirit….
I also wrote about not putting on all of God’s armor as being a sin, once you understand what all 6 pieces of God’s spiritual armor are for; and then purposely not putting on each piece for protection… This is called the “Sin of Omission”, as written about by the Apostle James in…James 4:17… Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
I shared this past Sunday, with my fellow brothers in Sunday school, that I wasn’t being effected by Satan… I told them, as I shared in my writing a few days ago, that I was still going through trials God has given to me to temper me and make me even stronger in my faith…but Satan has no foothold to enter my life… There is no chink in my armor because I wear all 6 pieces of the full set of armor God provides to His children… But we must know about all 6 pieces…and then it is up to us to put on all 6 pieces, holding them firmly in place with prayer… Failure to do so will leave a chink in our armor, giving Satan access to some part of our body which is missing it’s protective spiritual armor…
My Lil Sis Sharon told me she was missing the “Helmet of Salvation” for an estimated 10 years… This missing piece of God’s armor wasn’t protecting her head from Satan and all the lies he was filling her head with for so many years… This is one of the 2 brethren who have convinced me that the combination of wearing God’s full set of armor, and the filling of the Holy Spirit is a must, to protect us from all of the demonic forces at work, constantly try to bring Christians down…
Here is the link for Paul’s ever so vital list to “The Whole Armor of God”… I urge all readers to open and digest…Ephesians 6:10-20… http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=eph6:10-20&version=NKJV
I have mentioned “grieving the Holy Spirit” and “quenching the Holy Spirit” twice now in the last couple of days… It’s time tomorrow, God willing, for me to explain how doing either of these things to the Holy Spirit within us, is equivalent to what I have been referring to as our being a cracked vessel, or having a chink in God’s armor, which allows the Holy Spirit’s control to be reduced… I must point out that a saved Christian will never lose the Holy Spirit… But the full power of the Holy Spirit working with-in us, is the only way we can be completely protected from Satan… This of course, along with wearing the full armor of God…
Heavenly Father, I continue to pray that Christian readers are coming on board to the fact that this protective spiritual armor You provide for Your obedient children who decide to put it on, is needed to be worn in it’s entirety; along with the full power of the Holy Spirit, as the only way to defeat Satan… We are helpless within ourselves, as all of our fighting power comes from above… I thank You even now, for eyes to be opened to the truth found in Your Word… In Jesus Christ’s most precious name and for His sake…Amen…

  “God’s Armor, or Satan’s Chains” (Part 2) (11)

James 1:14-15… But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.
I have spent the better part of the last year trying my best to make up for 7 lost years of not sharing the gospel of Christ… I was an ineffective Christian, and Satan was winning the battle with my living for my Lord and Master the way I should have been… There are at least 2 levels of Christianity that I became aware of 7 years and 2 days after reaching my first level, salvation…given to me by the grace and mercy God blessed me with on that memorable day…(6/02/2002)… My life changed forever, in the blink of an eye… Praise the Lord !!
Salvation is all about giving up one’s life to the Lord, by admitting to our Father in heaven that we are sinners in need of a Savior… One must decide that their existing life of sin is in need of being put behind them…They must admit, by being brought to their knees in submission to the Lord, that they are sorry for their sinful life; and with a repentant heart, seek Jesus by faith and faith alone as their personal Lord and Savior… At the moment of salvation, God fills us with the full power of the Holy Spirit… I speak of my Father in heaven only now, because as an unbeliever, God is not your Father… Satan is…along with all the lusts of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life that John talks about in…1 John 2:15-16… These sins have control of the unbelievers life with the chains of Satan securely fastened around their limbs; along with the blindfold Satan uses to keep sinners in bondage…
This opening scripture is the epitome of a lost soul’s fundamental problem about being tempted by Satan… But God has revealed to me that this level 2 of once again being filled with the Holy Spirit, is something the born again Christian must desire and ask God for, just like at salvation; after they finally seal up the cracks in their vessel, or eliminate the chinks in their armor… I have spent the last 10 days trying to help all Christians learn about, and then understand that they must be wearing the “The Whole Armor of God”, or they can and will lose the full power of the Holy Spirit that was given to them at the time of salvation… I went the better part of 7 years without this full power…
Just like at salvation, we must want to continue to be filled with the Holy Spirit… But any sins that creep back into our lives through the chinks in our armor will grieve or quench the Holy Spirit… When the new believer is first given the Holy Spirit by God, many are described as being on fire for the Lord… They cannot get enough information fast enough to feed their desire to learn more and more about this unbelievable change in their lives…this supernatural filling by God with their life long helper, the Holy Spirit…to combat the wiles of Satan and all of his demon fallen angels…
This fire is something that can quickly be put out or “quenched” if “The Whole Armor of God” is not systematically put on, piece by piece, to protect the new Christian from Satan’s attacks… Satan will have this tremendous desire not to let this new child of God, who has been lost forever to our Father in heaven, go forward and be kept filled with the Holy Spirit… This will only make matters worst for Satan, by new believers telling others about this good news of the gospel of Christ… This is what happened to me for over 7 years… The chink in my own armor was making Satan happy, as I was not sharing the gospel of Christ… This is why I am driven to help fellow Christians understand about “The Whole Armor of God”, so that Satan and his successful attacks can be a thing of the past…
I have admitted that Satan doesn’t get to me… Some people would say that what I am telling you can’t be true… I am telling you, as I have written previously, that it is positively true… But the key here is wearing the full set of spiritual armor God avails to us, and wants us to put on… The more effective a child of God becomes, as they live all of their lives for the Lord, the more important it becomes to keep all of God’s armor on… It’s only after we finally put on the last piece of protective armor, wearing it 24/7; and then finally submitting ALL of ourselves again to God, again being Spirit filled with the fullness of the full power of Holy Spirit; that Satan and his attacks can be resisted… It is a daily procedure of putting on all of God’s armor; and then as I wrote about yesterday, using prayer as a glue to hold all of God’s spiritual armor in place, to maintain the filling of the Holy Spirit…. We must keep all of ourselves out of our thoughts… There can be no self love…no self confidence in our strength…and no self-righteousness in our hearts, minds, or souls… The Holy Spirit is our only source of power to combat Satan’s fiery darts, along with the rest of his bag of tricks… It is not, nor can it ever be, about our power… It is strictly God’s power with-in us… Praise God for the power of the Holy Spirit, and the defeat of Satan because of His grace !!
Tomorrow, I will write on the grieving of the Holy Spirit, which will happen if Satan finds any chinks in our armor… Being totally free of Satan’s successful attacks has to be experienced to be believed… But for us to be a Spirit filled warrior, ready to battle anything Satan throws our way; we must be prepared for battle with all of God’s spiritual armor firmly in place, and complete in Christ…as we walk with Him every minute of every day…
Heavenly Father, keep me ever so humble, as I am being used by You to help those who are still being bothered by Satan… Protect me Lord, 24/7… Urge me with Your Helper, the Holy Spirit, to maintain full protection with Your armor… Fill me with the right words Lord, and then open the eyes of those in need of a re-filling of the Holy Spirit…. And Lord, urge those who have never had the experience of their first filling of the Holy Spirit at the time of salvation, to see that there really is a way to break the chains of Satan… I pray for this awakening by all of today’s readers by You Lord, in Jesus’ most precious name, and for His sake…Amen…

One Response to “God’s Armor or Satan”s Chains (11 days writing)

  1. Mona Crosby says:

Really love the title (I would © it already if possible). Also the write was engaging (I’m glad you referred to being “filled” with the Spirit instead of baptized… I think you know what I’m saying).
It would be nice to read the drafts in an epub (or even pdf) format for further feedback, as highlights and comments could be referenced with a reader (just a thought). Anyway, have to give you a thumbs up!

    -in and with His love.
May you be blessed with all the riches of His glory!
